June 13th

Pick a question/answer from the chapter that reminded you of an experience you’ve had.

On the blog, share your experience and a brief explanation of what you said/did.

Chapter 10

Due June 6th:

Look at the assessments you use over a day, a week, a month and a semester.

Share which assessments provide you with data that informs and modifies your instruction.

Are there any you can choose not to give or can adapt to make more meaningful?

Chapter 9

Due June 6th:

Try out a lesson on questioning, visualizing, inferring, or summarizing similar to the ones presented in Chapters 8 and9.

Post on the blog the meat of your lesson and how it went.

Chapter 8

Due Mary 23rd:

Share on the blog what method you have observed or used in determining which students need additional instructional strategies.

What methods would you use to determine if students were able to integrate the strategy into their reading process?

Chapter 7

May 23rd:

Select one of the early reading strategies mentioned in this chapter-checking and confirming, directionality, voice/print matching, early fluency and so on.

Post on the blog what you see as the differences between traditional read-aloud and interactive read-aloud.

Describe one strategy from the reading assignment that you will be able to implement.
